Many users have been annoyed by Apple's deletion of the View = Glyph feature in the revised Character Viewer app of OS X 10.7 and later, which made it impossible to directly view and input the entire glyph catalog of individual fonts. Ultra Character Map restores that capability:

Unfortunately, for glyphs without Unicode code points, input is limited to a graphic of the glyph, rather than a normal "character".

Good idea, I bought it because I need that function. However, the glyphs are exported as image files so that they cannot be treated like characters, e.g. giving them a certain colour.
However, its better to have this than nothing. And for the price of $10 its ok.
To address the glyphs and to bring them as characters into Pages seems to be a tricky task.
I would like to suggest that the program descriptions properly names its limitations here that the access to any character, symbol or glyph is only possible by using images that are copied. Such a limitation should be stated.
Nevertheless a good addition since Apple "failed" (I think they see the complications here) to solve or to re-integrate this function.
Tenpel -- Thanks for bringing that to my attention, I will modify my post.
