New iBook Author App Has Same RTL Bugs as iWork

My initial tests indicate that the new iBook Author app announced by Apple 1/19/12 has the same bugs with Arabic/Hebrew input as the iWork apps and iWeb have always had. There is no setting for "writing direction" (such as found in TextEdit) and the cursor doesn't work properly, so that editing via insertion/deletion is pretty much impossible.

How do we go at this?

We need to use iBook author for Arabic lessons and as I read that, the software does not support Multidirection editing.

How can we pass throught this barrier?

Thanks
Harib

Unless you can do what you want via copy/paste, you will just have to use some other app. The place to ask Apple to fix stuff is

10.7.3 also includes a Hebrew localisation, which is rather exciting. I'm not sure, though, if it fixes the R2L bugs in the other applications…

Thanks Frank! Normally having an OS localization would have zero effect on text engine bugs. Having Arabic has not helped, but there is always hope with any update...

Hi Guys

Any updates on the ability to type Hebrew fonts into ibooks author?
