Myanmar is a big step, isn't it? It must be one of the biggest languages that previously had very little computer support.
Not that I deny the importance of Glagolitic and Old Hangul and the rest of the lot, but Myanmar must affect more living users in their daily lives.
What seems odd to me is that Apple had Myanmar in 10.7 long so much earlier than MS put it in Windows.
Did you notice in the Microsoft link, the "Urdu Typesetting font" for Nastaliq in Windows 8? Could be of interest to people currently struggling with InPage...
Chris -- Yes, I was very curious about that. Have you seen a demonstration of it anywhere? I can't run Windows myself...
No, not seen it yet. Apparently available with the developer preview or some such advance beta-type download. I guess it relies on the Uniscribe text engine, so the font wouldn't be suitable for Macs, but it would be interesting to try anyway.
